McDonald's tests XL chicken sandwich in limited markets

McDonald's is testing a super-sized chicken sandwich in limited markets, according to a Chew Boom report.

The Grand McChicken Sandwich has an extra-large chicken patty, mayo and shredded lettuce. It's being tested in several markets in California and in Reno, Nevada.

TheStreet reports that sales for McDonald's chicken products are growing.

"The McCrispy Chicken Sandwich, for example, has now scaled to over 10 of our largest markets, including Spain just this past quarter. The sandwich is already resonating with our customers, bringing attention to our chicken portfolio and driving significant chicken share gains," McDonald's CFO Ian Borden said during the brand's second-quarter earnings call.
